The Eagle Run 5k committee has begun planning for this year's race. This year, we are expanding your race options to either a 5k or 10k road race. This is pretty exciting in itself as we continue to plan for all the participants arrival.
This year, we have moved the race back one week to the THIRD WEEKEND in June. Our new race date is June 20, 2015. We intent to continue to begin this race every year on the third weekend in June going forward.
This year, as already mentioned, there will be a 10k race that will run in concurrently with the 5k race.
There is a new 5k route this year. A change was made to ensure minimal injuries. This year, there will not be any brick roads on any portion of the course to run on.
The 10k route will run almost completely different than the 5k route. This should ensure minimal overcrowding during both races. Routes are published here.
This year, invitations were sent to 43 military commands throughout the state of Illinois to participate in our races. Princeton Christian Academy would like to give back to the community and specifically, the school is going to donate 25% or $5000 (whichever is the lessor amount) to the Veteran's Administration Retirement Home located in LaSalle, IL. A list of the commands that will be represented will be published at a later date.
